Note:The cash wage or basic or direct wage rate is the minimum required employer contribution towards your hourly minimum wage. The "maximum tip credit" is the amount of tips you will need on top of your cash wage to make a full minimum wage per hour. If you do not receive sufficient tips in your workweek to achieve the minimum wage for all hours worked that week, your employer must make up the difference.

A lot of Missouri's workers  are protected (or "covered") by the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA ) for their minimum wage, but there are exemptions. Read more about:

MINIMUM WAGE RATE Missouri: $7.50

Jan. 1, 2015: $7.65

All employers must pay the minimum wage, except employers engaged in retail or service businesses whose annual gross income is less than $500,000. There are also certain classes of employees exempt.

Missouri's minimum wage is recalculated yearly based on the Consumer Price Index. 

Full Time Minimum Wage

$       60.00 per day

$     300.00 per week 
$15,600.00 per year 

Based on a 8 hour day, 40 hours per week and 52 weeks per year before taxes.

Where Federal and state law have different minimum wage rates, the higher standard applies.

Overtime Pay Missouri
Overtime Pay Missouri: $11.25 per hour

T
he overtime pay rate is one and one-half (1.5) times the regular working hour rate of pay.
Overtime pay is the cash compensation for the hours eligible employees work in excess of:

40 hours in a workweek (a workweek = 7x24= 168 hours). 
12 hours per workday
12 consecutive hours without regard to the starting and ending time of the workday (excluding duty free meal periods)
Whichever calculation results in the greater payment of wages.
