Question - Date: 2010

Does the tipped employee's wages have to equal out to minimum per day they work or per work week? Say they worked 12 hours that whole week that should equal about 87 dollars at 7.25....and they made 20 dollars one day in tips and 60 in the other day worked? does that count for the week or is it day by day having to equal out to minimum wage?

Answer Paywizard.org:

Wages are paid per pay period.

Wages required by the Fair Labor Standards Act are due on a regular payday for the pay period covered. You can check your states pay period on the list of state payday requirements - published by the Wage and Hour division of the Labor Department.
